Sentence Completion Exercise

Here are some incomplete sentences for you to work with to further explore this issue in your life. Take each sentence stem and write it at the top of a piece of paper. Next, repeat it silently (or aloud) to yourself, and then complete the sentence stem with the first thought that comes to mind. Do six to ten completions for each.

You can see the ‘fill in’ the sentences below and access/print a worksheet setup to facilitate the process.

When someone doesn’t do something I want that person to do, I feel ____.

I take things personally when someone ____.

A painful experience I had that I took personally was ____.

To stop taking things personally I need to remind myself _____.
